Hillside had its family fall weekend last week. The leaves were at their peak...so beautiful. This was the first time we've seen D in six weeks...I was overwhelmed at how well he looked, acted and seemed to have adjusted to his new school life! It was truly amazing to witness his bright smile, embrace him and tell him how proud we are of all he has accomplished thus far. To see and hear how well D is doing makes the whole adjusting a little bit easier. Mom and Michele spent Friday morning with D in his science class and Dakota got to hang with him Friday night at the school's talent show. We attended a parent social while the boys played, we met other parents and were able to get to know some of the faculty. Saturday David and I spent the morning attending LD's classes where we learned more in depth of what D's doing and where he is academically. Afterwards Tad and Lulu and the kids joined us for lunch the Hillside way...then went outside to enjoy the campus and see some projects LD has been working on. He was so happy and enthusiastic to share with us!We left Hillside and went to Northboro to an apple orchard, truly a delightful experience. It doesn't get any better than eating an apple right off the tree (thank goodness for uncle Tad's knife, we were able to try them all without getting too full) Finally Saturday evening all 11 of us gathered for a wonderful family style Italian dinner at Linquini's..a family owned and run restaurant...we had a blast!!
